Agencies Work Together In Finding Stolen Bike

A motorcycle stolen from the Colfax area last Thursday was recovered in Van last Friday after officers from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office and the Van Police Department searched for it for more than a day.

Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Investigator Jerry Cato said that the 1988 Honda motorcycle was taken from a residence in the Colfax area.

"The bike was reported missing around 1 p.m. and nothing else was taken from the residence," said Cato.

The motorcycle was found on PR 8515 by Van Police Officer Jacob Richardson on Friday afternoon. The private road is located off of South Bois D’Arc Street in Van.

"We have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect and will have that suspect in custody soon," said Cato.

"Our officers and the Van officers worked diligently together to recover this stolen property and return it to its owner," said Van Zandt County Sheriff R.P. "Pat" Burnett.

"This is the kind of results we can continue to see as local law enforcement agencies work together," said Burnett.
